Kindergarten Readiness & Transition
Support children's successful transition to Kindergarten! The Kindergarten Transition Program (KTP) is an integral component for kindergarten success for students, parents, and teachers. 
What we do: Entering Kindergartners meet their teachers, learn routines and become comfortable in the school environment before the bustle of the new school year. In addition, teachers typically make home visits and establish relationships with the children's families. As a result, Kindergarteners start school on their first day feeling secure, knowing their teacher, and ready to learn in this new environment.
When: East Yakima Kindergarteners attend school for two weeks in August before the school year begins.
The Kindergarten Transition Program is a program of the Yakima School District in partnership with Ready by Five.
